Update and Food for Thought

Hello, Everyone! I had a very successful fundraiser during Autism Awareness month in April! I started with one student already. I have 3 more scholarships to offer! Each scholarship is for 5 one-on-one sessions, all materials included! Contact me by phone or email if you or someone you know might benefit from the joy of creating.

Scholarships For Art! No One Left behind!

My Go Fund Me site is set up to generate interest in providing art to autism spectrum and special needs children and adults who may not have access to funding. The site has been live for 1 week and donations currently total $225; my initial goal is $1000. After funding is in place, I will reach out to Metzenbaum, local school principals, Autism Speaks, Milestones and CEVEC. $250 will pay for five 1-hour one-on-one sessions in my studio. $350 will pay for for 5 private sessions in a private residence or group home. They Are Us

Autism spectrum and special needs children and adults are OUR brothers and sisters in the community. However, even in this modern era of heightened awareness and social consciousness, their gifts keep them hidden in plain sight. Are they in your dance class? On your baseball, track or tennis team?

Art is the most welcoming club for ALL to join. In the 8 years that I have been providing guided art making, I have witnessed confidence building, communication and dexterity improvements, and simple, unadulterated "Joy in the Journey".

I want to offer more individuals the chance to create art. I want NO ONE LEFT BEHIND! To that end, I am setting up a Go Fund Me site to gather money and offer scholarships! I am planning to launch this effort soon! Stay posted, friends!

Serendipity

The occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way is SERENDIPITY. This not only applies to inventions and breakthroughs since man inherited the earth, it applies to the art from cave renderings to the present. I firmly believe THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO DO ART! The line intended for the left side of a page but veered right almost always creates a more exciting piece. Something to run with and not away from! Discoveries happen when the random line or color or ink spill challenges the artist. I help my students gain confidence in themselves and their abilities with my outspoken belief in this philosophy

Young Rembrandt Hour

Find Art will be offering twice monthly one hour creative sessions. Children will be guided in mixed media to create a finished masterpiece! Send me your thoughts about best days and times! Age 6+. $15 per child. All materials included.
